The ancient believed that stars are ruling over human destiny and viewed them as deities or at least divine messengers. The great divine mothers, such as goddess Ishtar and Virgin Mary were adorned with crowns of stars.
Wishing on a shooting star also dates way back in history. A falling star connects Heaven and Earth and is a sign of their union – a perfect moment for submitting your request to the universe.
Standing before something as vast and awesome as Cosmos you can’t help asking it for some favor. However, you should wait for a signal to do that. The stars themselves will send it if the timing is right (and if they are in a mood to do so!)
It is said that if you see a shooting star, you should make a wish before it falls and your wish will come true.
