Dear Mr. Kush, I wanted to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for your extraordinary work and for creating art that speaks to the soul. I recently acquired a print of The Hand of Providence, and it resonates with me in a way that feels almost predestined. It embodies everything I've endured and overcome these past 13 years. As someone who has faced death multiple times enduring over 68 surgeries, years in the hospital ICU's, on ventilators, fighting through unimaginable trauma, a relentless storm that spanned well over a decade now and surviving against all odds this piece captures the essence of my journey. When we met, I shared just a glimpse of my path, and for you to have just completed this work at that time and recommended it to me feels like more than coincidence.
The Hand of Providence is a powerful reminder that something greater than us is guiding the way, even through suffering and uncertainty. The image speaks to transformation, resilience, and the delicate balance between struggle and grace something I understand intimately. My journey has been one of destruction and rebirth, loss and renewal, and the search for meaning after surviving what should have been unsurvivable. The fact that I received the 68th print feels symbolic, a sign that my story is still unfolding.
Art has the power to heal, to inspire, and to remind us that we are never truly alone. Your work embodies that truth, and I am honored to have this piece as a reflection of my own path.
It was a great honor to meet you in Laguna sir and I hope to see you again one day. Finally, I do want to thank Lynne for guiding me through this process.
With deep gratitude and admiration I shall always remain, -Wes Irvin
- I’ve been to your Las Vegas studio 3 times. Every time I go to Vegas, I stop in. I’m not much into art, but I am mesmerized but your work. You are such a great artist, and I love all of your work. My last visit I bought your book, Light for the Souls. I would love one day to be able to purchase some of your pieces.
My two favorites are Sunrise, and Spirit of Magellan. I believe Spirit of Magellan was in the back room, and we could adjust the light of the room to see the painting differently. It was amazing. Sunrise is my favorite because of the detail. I love how every time I look at it, I feel something different. Can’t wait to get back for another visit. - Bruce Schultz -
Dear Vladimir,Meeting you at the art gallery this past February 24th was a pleasure. It was a coincidence, but we made a meaningful reason to have met you personally, whatever the circumstances. Why this letter? Since we first bumped into your paintings at the Laguna Beach gallery, we connected with you. Not necessarily a personal connection but a universal connection. You and your dad know that Carl Jung has formulated the concept of archetypes, a set of ideas, images, and thoughts that are part of the collective unconscious.Looking at your paintings, we did not think we were making contact with your eyes, but we felt a universal connection as you made us remember that we all come from the same place, looking and aneling for the same answers. It's a captivating experience as the parrot can be in or out of the cage. It all depends on our interpretation of life.Jesus did not respond to Pilate's question, "What is the truth?" which could have sounded just as well as "What is reality?". It's up to us to find our dimension and freedom, and you inspire us to find them in new ways.Thank you again for the opportunity to share a moment of our journey(s).It was important for us to let you know that we appreciate your contribution to our imagination and enhance our life experience. Now back to work! 😊 Metaphorical realism also means to confront the daily challenges of everyday life from the smallest to the more demanding, when possible, with a smile and joke ready for the occasion, because life is also made of this! All the best. - Samuele Bagnai & Viktoria
- "Just wanted to say that Mr. Kush is a truly extraordinary artist and visionary - since I was nine years old, I have admired his ability not to just paint a picture, but to describe the abstract worlds of thought that linger on the peripherals of our awareness. When you look at a Kush painting, you look through the very cosmos of being. You see ideas you know, but cannot name - glimmering like soft lights behind a curtain, waiting to be revealed. Mr. Kush is a visionary, a creator of worlds, and I hope he knows that someone truly appreciates what he has created. I am now a full grown man, waiting for the day my son is old enough to read his own copy of 'metaphorical journey'. Art begets art - a whole new generation of artists and poets will never forget your works - thank you. paint on, Mr. Kush." - Matthew Hornung
- Dear Vladimir, Just wanted to let you know I love your work - and story. Without imagination this world is too hard to handle nowadays... So thanks for these moments of beauty! Keep up the exellent work and all the best. -Doetie Schadenberg Ruinen, The Netherlands
- Mr. Kush: I live 1h15 from Laguna Beach, what a treat to go there especially because of your gallery. Your art is PHENOMENAL! My parents visited me from France in 2016. We were blown away by your work. My father was a incredible painter & sculptor. We never stopped talking about it all these years. He passed away in October. On Father's Day I went to honor him by visiting your gallery. He was with me I know while admiring your work. Thank you for sharing your exceptional gift with the world. I always ask your employees the meaning of your painting. It's so fascinating! I hope life is great in Hawaii. Stay safe & creative, Sincerely, Isabelle Sitterle.
- Dear Mr. Kush: My name is Jenn Garvey, and I am compelled to write to you as one of your paintings deeply resonated with me on a recent visit to Santa Fe. While celebrating my aunt's 80th birthday, my mother, aunt, and I were exploring Canyon Road when we entered the Longworth Gallery.
The moment I stepped inside, Daisy Games was prominently displayed, and it quite literally took my breath away. I stopped in my tracks, transfixed by what I saw. In that painting, you captured the very essence of my despair and laid it bare on canvas. That day marked the one-year anniversary of losing my life partner. We had shared five years together and were discussing marriage just two weeks before an unexpected brain aneurysm tragically took him from this world in a mere 40 minutes.
What I saw in Daisy Games was a profound reflection of my own experience: myself, naked, vulnerable and gazing out the window into the daunting darkness of my future. The imagery alone was gripping, but moments later I noticed the small, dark figure over the bridge, and a shiver went up my spine, bringing me to tears. There he was, in the shadows, so close yet worlds away. I felt the longing of two souls unable to find each other. The power of that moment is still overwhelming, moving me to tears even now.
Since then, I have explored your work online and found a poignant connection: my late partner (Dave) and I were both avid sailors. I am still an international yacht racer, and this July marks my first long-distance race without him by my side. In my search for his soul, I now envision him finding peace in your Heavenly Harbor.
Exploring your other works during my grief journey has offered me a sense of calm as I can lose myself for a time, providing me with a welcome peace and clarity that helps to focus my mind. This extended message is simply my heartfelt thank you for sharing your vision with the world… which reached me when I needed it most.
With Gratitude - Mr. Kush,
My fiancée and I are getting married on October 26, 2025, and we wanted to share how your art helped us get to this point! We met in law school, and one of our first dates we ended up going into The Longworth Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. My fiancée, Xaveria, has always been a big fan of your work. As we stood there, staring at Diary of Discoveries our worlds melded into one. Xaveria being the lover of books, and myself being a lover of sailing.
I am sure you understand the deep emotions that one feels when looking at art. And it is near impossible to put those emotions into words. I knew as we stood there starring at Diary of Discoveries that I had found my lifelong partner. She would stand by me through whatever life threw at us. It was not long after that moment that I proposed to her. Your artwork created a path forward for us, one that has told us that we will both be safe, happy, and loved.
One day we will be able to purchase one of your pieces, but until then we wanted to share with you the importance that your work has had in our relationship. Thank you for letting us share our memories and for being part of our journey! Andrew Corbell & Xaveria Mayerhofer
