Nevertheless, the traditional symbolism is gaining its original cosmic meaning. The lovers are joining in ecstasy, taking off from the earth and fleeing into the blackness of infinity. As the poets had put it: the knowing of being loved “ gives the wings to fly”
The originality of the traditional concept interpretation is in the direction of the view of the depth beyond the painting dimensions.
A similar motif appears in the painting “Ascent of the Blessed” by the first Metaphorical artist Hieronymus Bosch, painted more than 500 years ago.
