OTHER WORLDS
• A major characteristic feature of the cosmos is the similarity between large and small forms – the uncanny unity of the world in things both big and little.
• Looking through the telescope he had built, the great Galileo discovered that Jupiter has satellites.
• The first model of the atom was constructed by Ernest Rutherford as early as 1901 on the analogy of the struc ture of the planetary system – a central, concentrated nucleus with electrons revolving round it.
We can rightly suppose that both a drop of water and such distant planets in the solar system as Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn share the most perfect spherical form. Many scientists suppose that distant worlds of the cosmos have a structure like our universe and that other civilizations exist.
"To see a World in a Grain of Sand, And a Heaven in a Wild Flower, Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand, And Eternity in an hour". William Blake
