HAND OF PROVIDENCE

There are many maritime legends about ill-fated ships sailing amidst the swirling sea. The only thing left for the crew is to pray and ask for the “lord’s mercy”. And without any further action by the crew, a miracle happens, and the ship and crew survives. The rescue literally comes from the providential Heaven.
It is the light from the angel’s Heaven that evokes the tidal wave, lifting up the sinking ship from the grip of the raging ocean. For a moment, the ship itself becomes the “saviour’s blessing hand”.
The cross of the masts itself was considered as an early sign of Christ. This was the symbol of “collective safety” amidst the storm of life happening on Earth.
According to Plutarch, the “Heavenly Providence is the thought and will of the superior God, caring for everything
on Earth”.
